LASSEN VOLCANIC
THE PLACE I ALWAYS COME BACK TO
I've always loved national parks. The mountains, the wildlife, the water, the trails, the feeling of disappearing into the wilderness for a while and coming back a little more like myself.
But Lassen has always been different.
It's the park I know by heart.
I've spent so much time there that at one point I was affectionately coined “The Lady of Lassen.”
I've wandered nearly every trail. Lassen Peak was the first summit I ever climbed. My very first backpacking trip was there, and I did it alone. In fact, probably 80 percent of my time at Lassen has been spent solo.
I've gone there for adventure, for silence, for spiritual resets, and sometimes simply because something inside me knew I needed to go.
Lassen has witnessed some of the biggest chapters of my life too. I fell in love there. And eventually, I was proposed to on the trail to Bumpass Hell.
Yes, that's actually the name of the trail. And considering that relationship would later come dangerously close to taking me completely away from myself, apparently Lassen had a sense of foreshadowing.
I can laugh about that now.
Through every version of my life, I kept going back.
THE CASCADES
There is one place at Lassen that has become almost sacred to me.
The Cascades.
It's where I go when I need more than a break. When I need to be restored. Detoxed. Infused with something that feels bigger and cleaner than whatever I've been carrying.
I backpack in and sleep on the rocks beside the rushing water. And every time, something happens to me there that I've never quite been able to recreate anywhere else.
At night, I lie on the rock and feel the vibration of the cascade moving beneath me.
The water rushes endlessly through the darkness.
The moon pours down from above, and I swear I can feel its energy infusing me while the water below seems to pull everything heavy away.
Somewhere between the two, everything inside me starts to soften.
My breathing changes.
My mind quiets.
My body lets go.
And I exhale.
I have never exhaled anywhere the way I exhale there.
It feels like an exchange.
The cascade takes the noise, the stress, the heaviness and all the energy I've carried in that doesn't belong to me.
And the mountain gives something back.
Peace. Energy. Clarity. Life.
The water detoxes me.
The moon infuses me.
And for one night, I get to simply lie between them and receive.
By morning, I feel restored.
That's the magic of the Cascades for me.
It's not somewhere I escape to.
It's somewhere I return to myself.
ALIVE
Maybe that's why Lassen speaks to me so deeply.
The entire park feels awake.
Snow covered mountains rise above alpine lakes. Wildlife moves through the forests. Steam escapes from the earth. Mud pots bubble. Water rushes over volcanic rock.
Even in its quietest moments, there is energy moving everywhere.
Fire and water. Stillness and movement. Destruction and creation.
There is something about being surrounded by that much life that makes me feel more alive too.
A LOVE LETTER TO LASSEN
When I decided to create a collection inspired by the national parks, there was never a question about where it would begin.
Lassen.
I didn't want to recreate one particular view. I wanted to capture the pieces of the park that I carry with me.
A snow covered mountain beneath an Alaskan moon with a soft, moonstone inspired finish.
Crushed citrine glowing through the mountain like the volcanic energy alive beneath it, carrying its traditional connection to vitality, transformation and renewed energy.
Moissanite cascading through the landscape, inspired by the water that has restored me so many times.
And alpine blues and forest greens drawn from the lakes, streams and wilderness I've wandered through for years.
It isn't one view you'll find at Lassen.
It's my Lassen.
The mountain I climbed.
The moon that infuses me.
The water that restores me.
The wilderness that always seems to know what I need.
This collection is my love letter to all of it.
And maybe, when you wear it, it will remind you of your place too.
The place that quiets the noise.
The place that gives something back.
The place that somehow always feels like home.
Find the places that restore your soul.
Wear Your Story.
